The majestic figure of God the Father occupies the centre of the composition, crowned with an elaborate triple tiara and dressed in voluminous, gilded and polychromed robes. His right hand is raised in blessing, while his left supports the globus cruciger, the cross-bearing orb symbolising divine dominion over the world. At the centre of his chest, the Holy Spirit appears as a silvered dove with outstretched wings, surrounded by a radiant gilded glory. Two finely modelled angelic heads, their wings forming part of the surrounding circular frame, complete the celestial composition. The carving is distinguished by the carefully rendered facial features, flowing beard, delicately articulated feathers and deeply folded drapery.
