General Electric P-800A is a small pocket-sized portable AM transistor radio from around 1959–1960 (Beitman data lists 1960; date codes often indicate late 1959).

Key Specifications
• Type: 5-transistor superheterodyne AM receiver (broadcast band only, ~540–1600 kHz), IF 455 kHz.

• Power: 4 × 1.5 V dry cells (typically AA cells, ~6 V total). Battery life and current draw are modest for the era; modern alkaline cells work fine, though fit can be tight on some units.

• Speaker: Notable high-impedance magnetic “reed” or stylus-type speaker (≈2.75 in / 7 cm). A reed suspended between pole pieces drives a paper cone via a stylus. It is driven directly by the single-ended output transistor collector with no audio output transformer.

• Form: Very small plastic pocket portable (< 8 inches). Built-in loopstick antenna. Plastic cabinet (not Bakelite).
Radio is in working condition. Plastic case has very minor wear marks, Controls move smoothly. Batteries are included and already installed.
