Attwood was known as a public lecturer and was the author of Happiness, published in Minneapolis in 1923 and containing religious lessons, sermons and humorous stories. He later authored The Origin and Development of the Bible.

A particularly interesting piece of Frederick S. Attwood memorabilia showing the blind lecturer apparently delivering one of his signature stories.
