After Frederic Remington – “The Wicked Pony” Bronze SculptureDynamic Western sculpture depicting a cowboy thrown from a bucking horse, based on Frederic Remington’s celebrated The Wicked Pony composition.This example is mounted on a substantial green marble/stone base and was presented as a 1997 golf tournament trophy for “THE MARK,” as shown by the original engraved brass presentation plaque.The front of the base also bears a brass title plaque reading:“WICKED PONY – BY FREDERIC REMINGTON”The bronze has a dark brown patinated finish with warm bronze highlights showing through in raised and worn areas.A faint cast/incised inscription or numeral is visible on the bronze ground, although it is too worn to read conclusively. The underside of the sculpture also bears a small incised symbol resembling a downward-pointing arrow intersecting a straight line.
