The four scripts are serially numbered.43531 - dated 19.X.87 (October 19, 1887)

43531 was written by Dr. Med. N. Hegnauer for Mr. Sam. Gajesky. (Historical records show the correct spelling of the name to be Samuel Gajeske.) I've identified the prescribing doctor's name by another prescription that had his name pre-printed on the pad, and noticed that he consistently signed his prescriptions with a stylized cursive rendering of the capital letter "H" (as he has done here) or a cursive rendering of "DrHgr."The date is written using the convention of Day/Month/Year, with Month rendered by the Roman Numeral X for 10, October 19, 1887.
Dr. Med. N. Hegnauer = "Dr. Med." was a title (i.e., "Doctor of Medicine).
The prescriptions are approximately 4" x 5.5". I often frame prescriptions like these in standard 4x6" frames, but I'm listing some this set "unframed" so I can offer them at a lower price, with lower shipping fees.
