This Victorian-inspired silverplate lidded dish was made in the mid 20th century by Wilcox Silverplate Co. in Meridian, Ohio. The design reproduces an original patented design dated December 7, 1886. This elegant set is complete with all three pieces: the lidded butter dish, interior crystal tray and original matching butter knife.
Both the outside and the inside of the dish are intricately carved. The inside carving features a whimsical fairy aflight in a lush floral garden. With its graceful twin handles, domed lid, and gorgeous decorative finial, this piece offers timeless charm for traditional dining rooms, antique-inspired tablescapes, and silverplate collections.
The underside is marked Wilcox Silverplate Co. and numbered 3213.
All three pieces of the set are in very good vintage condition overall. There is a small hole in the silverplate base that is clearly shown in the photograph with the blue arrow. Please review all photos before purchasing. It is truly a lovely set that is sure to impress your guests!
Measures approximately 5" Diameter, 7"W handle to handle and 6.5"H.
