This fabulous 19th century double weave Jacquard coverlet is both signed and dated and place inscribed. The American folk art museum owns at least a couple of coverlets done by Jacob Impson. Prominent Cortland Village and Lady's Fancy markings. Dated 1837 so in about another decade, this beautiful coverlet will hit 200 years old!! It measures 88" by 77". It is in remarkably good condition as shown but has a very slight smoke and mothball odor, not overpowering but present if you are sensitive. It recently came out of a wooden trunk in a home and I have not hung it out to air for any length of time. Museum worthy and a breathtaking addition to your early American collection, especially if you have a Cortland or Syracuse NY connection.
