FOSSIL TRILOBITE HUGE ENROLLED DROTOPS 3\" GORGEOUS EYES MOROCCO BASEBALL SIZED For Sale

Offered here is a huge, enrolled fossil trilobite, Drotops megalomanicus from the Devonian strata of Issoumour, Morocco and it literally is the size of a baseball. The specimen sits naturally on a matrix pedestal (not glued but attached to the rock matrix on which it was found), with gorgeous compound eyes. The specimen is complete, NO signs of repairs or enhancements, no wax or polish on the specimen surface, and is exceptionally large measuring 3 INCHES in diameter. I purchased this one (and several others, alas, all traded away decades ago), in person, in Morocco, in 1994 while taking a break from an expedition focused on reconnaissance mapping and paleomag. sampling in the Argana region. I literally spent 3 hours examining 500+ trilobites and hand-picked the best half dozen. A very eye-catching display specimen and one of the best Drotops (still called Phacops when I obtained it) I\'ve ever seen of this size. Time for it find a new home as I downsize.
