Exceptionally Rare Vintage Lefton Mustard Pixieware Hot Dog Spoon For Sale

Exceptionally rare vintage Lefton “Mustard” Pixieware condiment jar featuring the highly sought-after Hot Dog Head spoon.

This unusual mid-century piece features a white ceramic mustard jar with yellow vertical stripes and the whimsical hand-lettered “Mustard” design. The removable serving spoon is topped with an anthropomorphic smiling hot dog character with wonderful hand-painted facial details.

The Holt-Howard Archive identifies the Hot Dog Head Mustard as the “great rarity” of the standard Lefton condiment line and gives this variation an “Exceptionally Rare” classification. The base is numbered 1482, corresponding with the documented Lefton product number.

IMPORTANT CONDITION INFORMATION: This piece has been damaged and repaired. The hot dog head has previously been broken off at the neck/base and repaired, and the ceramic spoon itself has also been broken and repaired. The repairs and associated damage are visible in the photos. There is also age-related crazing, wear and other imperfections consistent with a vintage ceramic piece. I cannot tell you what kind of glue was made for repairs because it was not repaired by me. It does appear to be very clean breaks and the purchaser could re-repair and make this look amazing!

Despite the repairs, the exceptionally rare original Hot Dog Head spoon is present with its matching #1482 Mustard jar.
