An exceptionally uncommon vintage peach-marigold carnival glass biscuit jar, attributed to the historic Jeannette Glass Company of Pennsylvania. Standing an impressive 9.5 inches tall, this magnificent covered jar combines substantial proportions, architectural pressed-glass detailing, and luminous iridescence in a form seldom encountered in today's vintage marketplace.
Its distinctive design features alternating horizontal rings, raised vertical ribbing, and geometric molded details. The warm peach-amber glass displays remarkable shifts of gold, rose, and subtle lavender as light moves across its richly textured surface. A beautifully molded lid with an elegant glass knob completes the design.
Jeannette Glass Company was an important American manufacturer of decorative pressed glass, producing iridescent glassware throughout much of the twentieth century. Historical catalogs document the company's lustrous Amberglo finish. While this jar's precise pattern and production date remain unconfirmed, its construction and appearance are consistent with vintage American carnival glass attributed to Jeannette.
Beyond its collectible appeal, this generously sized jar offers wonderful decorative versatility. Display it on a kitchen counter, fill it with individually wrapped confections, or use it as a distinctive accent on open shelving, a buffet, or an elegant coffee station.
