Elegant blue vintage Italian alabaster marble hinged footed lg jewelry box READ For Sale

Elegant vintage large blue alabaster hinged and footed jewelry box. Dimensions are about 6" diameter on top, 7" diameter on bottom, and 6.5" to the top of the handle. This lovely piece echoes others made around the 1950s by various Italian artisans. It features a very smooth, round lid sitting on a larger round base, both supported by gold bands. A golden Renaissance-style dolphin handle is on the top with three matching dolphin feet underneath. The gilded bands are etched with scrolling. The gilding may be ormolu. The blue coloring looks more natural on the exterior and is quite saturated on the interior, suggesting a dye. The bottom has the remains of a label with "Made Italy" readable and unreadable hand-written letters/numbers underneath. Very heavy object. Condition is very good for its age -- the top handle has been detached but could be easily repaired. There is fading on the exterior, but as mentioned, it actually looks more natural with the faded color than the interior. I've seen these listed for up to $400 and selling for more than $300 on other sites, so I'm cutting y'all a deal here.
