Forged in the historic cutlery capital of Solingen, Germany, this imposing fixed blade measures Approx. 13.0 in overall length and features a massive Approx. 8.0 in clip point blade ground from premium Solingen high-carbon cutlery steel (weighing Approx. 16.5 oz combined with its sheath). The mirror-polished blade features a crisp factory swedge, deep choil, and a bold Gothic black letter blade etch reading "Original Bowie Knife". The obverse tang is cleanly stamped "EDGE MARK / SOLINGEN / GERMANY", with the reverse tang stamped with model number "443". The handle is built around an exposed full slab tang fitted with deeply grooved genuine European stag antler scales secured by three solid brass rivets and fronted by a thick, hand-filling solid brass double S-curve crossguard. This knife includes its original heavy-duty tan saddle leather sheath featuring contrast white perimeter stitching, steel reinforcing rivets, a functioning snap retention strap, an embossed leaping trophy buck deer with the "EDGE MARK" banner, and a decorative nickel-plated metal tip protector with embossed filigree detailing. The knife and sheath are in excellent vintage pre-owned estate condition as pictured; the blade retains its factory grind and bright mirror luster with no active rust, pitting, edge nicks, or post-factory sharpening marks. There is minor, localized surface storage patina and haze on the blade face below the etch from long-term leather storage as shown in close-ups. The brass guard and stag scales are completely tight with no play or wobble, and the leather sheath remains supple and intact.
