Eastern Indiana Normal University main building Mislabeled as Taylor Muncie UNDB: $5.00
Eastern Indiana Normal Universitymain buildingUndivided Back PostcardUp for sale is a compelling piece of early 1900s Indiana collegiate history: an unused, unposted undivided-back postcard. This card features a prominent historical publisher misprint that makes it a unique addition to any regional ephemera collection.✨ Card Details & Historical Significance: - The Misprint Error: The lower margin caption reads: "TAYLOR UNIVERSITY, MUNCIE, IND." However, Taylor University is famously located in Upland, Indiana. The grand neoclassical building pictured is actually the original 1899 Eastern Indiana Normal University main facility in Muncie, which eventually evolved into the centerpiece Administration Building for Ball State University.
- Front Imagery: A beautiful black-and-white early lithograph print showcasing the striking architectural columns, winding walking paths, and young campus trees.
- Reverse Side: Features a clean, unposted Undivided Back layout typical of postcards manufactured prior to March 1907.
⚠️ Condition Report: This is an authentic antique paper collectible well over 110 years old. It remains unposted and free of handwritten ink marks. It shows minor corner softening and light edge wear consistent with its age, along with natural light paper toning. Please inspect the high-resolution front scan closely to evaluate the precise condition.I try to ship the same day I receive your payment, and same‑day shipping is free. If your payment comes in before 12 pm California time, I usually get your order into the mailbox that afternoon. If your payment is received after 12 pm, I will put it in the mailbox for pickup the next day. Delivery times vary depending on your location and USPS First Class Mail. I find USPS to be very reliable overall, and using traditional stamped First Class mail rather than a more expensive tracked shipping method helps me keep costs down—which means the savings stay in your pocket.
