EXCEEDINGLY RARE — AUTHENTIC 1874 CUNARD LINE DELUXE PASSENGER GUIDEBOOK:
$850.00

Title: "The Liverpool, London & Paris Guide"

Published by: The British & North American Royal Mail Steamship Company

A true museum-grade survivor of maritime history: an original, complete 1874 deluxe presentation guidebook issued to premium Cabin-Class passengers traveling aboard the historic Cunard Line.

Printed four years before the company officially restructured and shortened its name to the "Cunard Steamship Company" in 1878, this piece represents the peak of mid-Victorian transatlantic luxury.

DELUXE FEATURES & HIGHLIGHTS:

• Pristine Gilded (Gilt) Edges: This is a rare deluxe presentation copy featuring bright gold-leaf edging along the top, bottom, and side pages. The gold finish has beautifully preserved the interior paper edges for over 152 years.

• Intact Novelty Advertising Elements: Features the spectacular, brightly colored die-cut pop-up advertisement tab for "Nosotti’s Art Furniture" (397-399 Oxford Street, London). These delicate Victorian paper novelties rarely survive intact!

• Historical Content: Includes the classic "Société des Entrepôts de Médoc" Bordeaux wine mapping and high-end French travel guides meant for elite 19th-century travelers.

• Cover Art: Stamped blue cover featuring the classic golden gilt illustration of an early steam-and-sail ocean liner.

CONDITION REPORT:

• Interior: Complete and remarkably clean for its age. The fragile pop-up ad tabs are intact and fully legible. Binding remains solid. No significant water damage or severe foxing. 3 1/2” x 5 1/4”.

• Exterior: Displays expected minor cosmetic age wear and rubbing to the delicate blue cover and spine, appropriate for a 152-year-old traveler’s guide. Gilt edges still retain excellent luster when tightly closed.

• Please review the high-resolution photos closely as they serve as the final baseline for condition.
