U.S. NAVY EPAULETTES IN BRASS..BEAUTIFUL DETAIL. NOT SURE OF date--was advised that it was between 1905-1939Exqistely made with fine brass, gold & silver threads. Sturdy backing with brass & leather. and marked made "FRANCE-PARIS."
Measurements for each epaulette- 7 1/2" long/ 5 1/2" wide at widest point-- 3" at narrow point.Has a brass button, anchor ( in thread) & 7 point oak leaf on right epaulette. --(missing on left--see photo #10)Underside is brass, leather and black velvet fabric...Detailing is exquisite.Was told it was for a senior Navy Commander officer.
Can be used for costurne or an "objest d'art" on coffe table or book shelf. Very. very unusual and elegant.
