Daniel Webster Signature Autograph Signed Letter MA Senator Secretary of State For Sale

Daniel Webster (1782-1852) is one of the most important politicians in Massachusetts & U.S. history. From the House of Representatives, The Senate, to being Secretary of State two times, he had a long and storied career. He was Secretary of State under Fillmore and William Henry Harrison/John Tyler.

This letter has Websters initials only signature bottom right. They are on a note/letter about returning a call. It is dated May 22nd 1828. This would have been his second year as a Massachusetts senator. It says Mr. Webster at the top of the note and on the reverse. I purchased it as part of a lot of three Webster signatures at sale. The final photo in the listing shows the other items in the lot for /reference/provenance purposes. They came out of a high end collection of political signatures saleed off by a highly respected MA sale house. This listing is for the note with the initials signature only. The note is approximately 8”x10.5”.
