Confederate General James Longstreet Civil War Autograph PSA Authenticated:

James Longstreet [1821 1904] was a prominent Confederate general during the American Civil War and principal subordinate to General Robert E. Lee who called him his \'\'Old War Horse\'\'. He served under Lee as a corps commander for most of the battles fought by the Army of Northern Virginia in the Eastern Theatre, and also with General Braxton Bragg in the Army of Tennessee in the Western Theater. General Longstreet began his military career in 1842 in the United States Army until the outbreak of the American Civil War in 1861. After the war from 1897 to 1904, he served as the U.S. Commissioner of Railroads for presidents McKinley and Roosevelt. Listed for sale is an authenticated autograph of General James Longstreet signed on a railroad pass for the Chicago & North-Western Systems. The pass is dated 1902, No. 264 and is signed \'\'James Longstreet\'\' in black fountain pen. The pass contains his name and title as Railroad Commissioner written on the front and signed by the president of the railroad. The pass measures 4.00 x 2.50 inches with trivial wear/toning otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph has been authenticated by PSA Authentication and has been encapsulated. The autograph is authenticated, ideal for display and is a desirable example of this prominent Confederate commander.
