It is signed by the Admiral in a unique and impressive 6-7” long, and boldly signed and flowing ink signature.
- During the Civil War and as Captain of the Monitor, John L. Worden won “The Battle of Ironclads” (the celebrated and first naval ironsides battle), also known as “The Battle of Hampton Roads” against the South’s Merrimack.
- This makes this book and the Signature of Admiral John L. Worden classic memorabilia of the Civil War as well as that of the United States Navy, but most importantly a personal artifact of Admiral Worden and highly collectable.
