Civil War General P. G. T. Beauregard Signed Letter (ALS) + Engraved Portrait For Sale

Item 1: Autograph Letter Signed (ALS)
General P.G.T. Beauregard (1818-1893), Confederate general. One-page letter signed \"G.T. Beauregard,\"on a folded sheet of blue-ruled letter paper, written in dark ink.
Full text: \"New Orleans, Sept 7/85; Mr. Geo. B. Loucks, Schenectady, N.Y. Dear Sir - Yours of the 1st inst was received during my absence. I can give you Gen Cheatham\'s address, which is Nashville Tenn., but not that of Gen Buckner. He is usually in Chicago, in the Summer. Very truly yours, G. T. Beauregard\"
Beauregard was a resident of New Orleans from the end of the Civil War until his death in 1893. He references two fellow Confederate generals: Benjamin Franklin Cheatham (1820-1886) and Simon Bolivar Buckner (1823-1914). Cheatham was in fact residing in Nashville in 1885, serving as Postmaster of Nashville from 1885 until his death in September 1886. Buckner had documented business and personal ties to Chicago in the postwar period. The recipient, Mr. George B. Loucks of Schenectady, New York, has not been positively identified.
Condition: Fold lines and overall age toning present. Letter has been archivally backed with thin tissue paper support; edges trimmed. Chipped lower left corner. Very faint pencil notations at lower right corner. Verso shows minor surface lifting at four corners and center, likely from prior mounting adhesive.
Item 2: Steel Engraving Portrait
Portrait of General P.G.T. Beauregard. Undated; style and wear consistent with late 19th century. Not hand-signed.
Condition: Toning throughout, heavier at edges. Evidence of trimming along edges. Small tear with loss at upper left edge; closed tear at upper right edge. Scattered brown spots and foxing across the sheet. Tape residue at top verso corners.
