Offered is an impressive celestite specimens from large geodes at Sakoany, Madagascar, a world-renowned locality for producing celestite with large, well-formed crystals and attractive pale blue coloration.
The specimen consist of a rounded geode section, with the back sides showing natural, smoothly curved matrix surfaces and the front faces opening into crystal-lined pockets. The intergrown celestite crystals are robust, blocky, and translucent, measuring approximately 3–5 cm across, with clean faces and strong three-dimensional presence. They occupy about 40 percent of the display face.
Rather than fully crystal-lined cavities, these pieces display partial but substantial crystal coverage, which highlights individual crystal size and form while maintaining strong visual balance between matrix and crystal growth. This presentation is typical of high-quality Sakoany material and allows each crystal to be clearly appreciated.
