We are CollectorKnives and have been bringing you the best value in collectible traditional knives for over two decades.  We do not clean or modify these knives.  But many have been in boxes, tubes, or displays for many years.  Thus, the oil in the joints may have dried out and cause for lazy action.  We allow you to take ownership of your new purchase by cleaning the joint and working any dried lubricant out if that is your choice.  If you are going to put the knife on display or in the vault, this need not be done at this point in time as handling only opens the environment to more contamination.  These knives made by hand one step at a time will have some character.  There may be bolster swirls or handling marks.  The brass in the backsprings may have a patina.  All part of the passing on of a prized possession.
