Carved Wood Hollow Cloaked Figure Monk Friar Ghoul Signed 1988 Halloween? For Sale

I found this at an estate sale and no one knew anything about it. Someone thought that it was a wooden mold. There is a date and signature. Please look at the pics. This looks like it was carved in 2 pieces and glued together. He is so cool, at Halloween I put a light inside and he became a ghoul. At other times he looks like a monk or friar. Good condition.
