LONG WAVE & SHORT WAVE UV
Rhombohedral and scalenohedral white Calcite crystals coated with a fine dusting of micro Pyrite on a matrix of Galena, Pyrite and clear Fluorite. The Calcite crystals are quite nice especially since two distinct habits have formed.
Under 365nm long wave UV light the Fluorite fluoresces blue and the Calcite orange/red
Under 254nm short wave UV the Calcite fluoresces red-orange.
This piece if from a very large collection of fine/high quality mineral specimens that was in storage for the last few decades until the entire collection was purchased by a company in the last year or so, during the transport and subsequent unpacking many of the labels were mixed up or lost, so this particular piece is without one.
From ? no label was provided and was said to be from Missouri...but I am thinking it is from elsewhere.
