A very nice example of this somewhat scarce token from the Sanitary fair. These were sold as souvenirs and to help with fund raising. They sold for a dime each but the silver (using the same die) sold for 50 cents each--not cheap 162 years ago!
The best way to judge these for any wear at all is in Washington\'s hair which is crystal clear, sharp and shows not even the slightest wear. The reverses typically have very light strikes but this one is dramatically bolder than the vast majority. I don\'t think I\'ve seen a reverse with as strong a strike before and I\'ve seen dozens over the years.
Please look for others and compare both price and condition. This is a super token at a very modest price. For those who haven\'t handled them before, the token is smaller than a penny....closer to the size of a dime.
