Sergeant Cornelius McClellan served with the The 126th st Pennsylvania Volunteers and fought in Virginia, including The Battle of Fredericksburg, December 13, 1862, where, by “a furious charge upon the enemy behind the historic stone wall, seventy-seven of its members were killed and wounded.\" After being mustered out 1n 1863, in 1865 he joined the 101st Pennsylvania along with his brother Thomas, and was Commissioned Captain of the newly re-formed 101st Pa.
