🔹 CASE TESTED XX | 1920–1940
Here’s an interesting piece of early Case cutlery history! An electrician’s pattern from the desirable Tested XX era, featuring dark wood handles, a locking screwdriver blade, and an old-fashioned bail.
One particularly appealing detail is the faint surviving “CENTER LOCK TO LEFT” etch on the screwdriver blade, referencing this knife’s unusual center-locking mechanism.
🔹 KNIFE DETAILS
* Maker: Case Tested XX
* Era: Circa 1920–1940
* Closed length: Approximately 3 3/4”
* Handles: Dark wood with age, scratches and character
* Blades: Spear-point master and locking screwdriver/wire-working blade
* Construction: Metal bolster, bail, and center-locking mechanism
🔹 CONDITION
An honest, well-used antique with plenty of character. The blades have developed a beautiful, deep gray patina over the decades, giving this old Case a rich, naturally aged appearance that complements the dark wood handles.
The blades exhibit sharpening wear, scratches, and handling marks consistent with years of use. Both retain their recognizable profiles, with the secondary showing more pronounced wear.
An honest example of Case’s early specialty cutlery—made for work, built to last, and now a collectible reminder of another era.
