BUCK 110 FOLDING HUNTER

2019 FIRST PRODUCTION RUN • 1 OF 500 • MADE IN USA

A SPECIAL-PRODUCTION VERSION OF ONE OF AMERICA’S MOST LEGENDARY FOLDING KNIVES

Not every Buck 110 is the same.

For more than 60 years, the Buck 110 Folding Hunter has represented American craftsmanship, reliability, and outdoor tradition.

This particular example offers something beyond the standard production model: a distinctive textured handle, special Buck branding, and a blade prominently engraved:

BUCK 110 — 1 OF 500 — FIRST PRODUCTION RUN 2019

For the collector who already owns a traditional Buck 110, this is an opportunity to add a noticeably different example to the collection.

For someone discovering Buck knives for the first time, it offers a beautiful introduction to an American classic.

THE STORY — A KNIFE THAT CHANGED AN INDUSTRY

In 1964, Buck introduced the Model 110 Folding Hunter.

Before its introduction, many outdoorsmen preferred fixed-blade hunting knives because traditional pocketknives lacked the strength and security they needed.

The Buck 110 helped change that.

Its revolutionary locking-back design combined the convenience of a folding knife with the security of a locking blade.

It became one of the most recognizable folding hunting knives ever produced.

Buck’s roots go back even further, to 1902, when Hoyt Buck began developing his innovative steel heat-treatment methods.

That commitment to steel quality, craftsmanship, and dependable performance helped establish the Buck name as an American knifemaking institution.

Today, Buck continues its American manufacturing tradition in Post Falls, Idaho.

WHAT MAKES THIS 2019 EDITION SPECIAL?

FIRST PRODUCTION RUN — 2019

This knife carries a special 2019 first-production-run designation.

The blade also bears the marking “1 OF 500,” identifying it as part of a specially designated 500-piece production group.

This is not an ordinary unmarked Buck 110.

The marking is reproduced exactly as it appears on the blade. It is not being represented as individually verified serial number 001.

Beyond its special blade engraving, the knife features distinctive textured handle scales with decorative sculpted grooves and an inset Buck emblem.

The combination gives this knife a very different personality from the familiar wood-handled Buck 110.

THE BLADE — CLASSIC BUCK ENGINEERING

A PROVEN DESIGN BUILT AROUND REAL-WORLD PERFORMANCE

The Buck 110 is famous for its clip-point blade, hollow-ground cutting geometry, and durable locking mechanism.

Standard Buck 110 knives use 420HC stainless steel, a proven blade material known for its excellent combination of corrosion resistance, durability, practical edge retention, and ease of sharpening.

Buck’s celebrated heat-treatment process, developed through the work of renowned metallurgist Paul Bos, helps bring out the performance potential of the steel.

Unlike some extremely hard specialty steels that can require more effort to sharpen, Buck’s traditional 420HC offers a practical balance of performance and maintainability.

Its advantages include:

* Excellent corrosion resistance for outdoor environments

* Good practical edge retention

* Relatively easy sharpening and edge maintenance

* Durable performance for hunting and everyday cutting

* A proven history in American-made knives

The blade’s classic clip-point profile provides a precise tip for controlled cutting, while its hollow-ground geometry supports efficient slicing.

The exact steel specification of this special-production example has not been independently verified; 420HC is the standard Buck 110 specification.

DISTINCTIVE TEXTURED HANDLE

One of the most visually interesting features of this knife is its unusual handle.

Instead of the familiar smooth wood scales found on traditional Buck 110 knives, this example features dark, textured composite-style scales with a sculpted, flowing pattern.

The handle incorporates a decorative Buck emblem and contrasting metal bolsters.

The textured surface offers a tactile grip and a rugged appearance that complements the classic folding-hunter design.

The exact composite material has not been factory-confirmed, so it is not being represented as a specific G10 or Micarta formulation.

THE LEGENDARY LOCKBACK DESIGN

The Buck 110 helped popularize the lockback folding-knife mechanism.

When opened, the blade is held in position by a locking bar that engages the blade tang.

This provides a secure, traditional folding-knife design without sacrificing portability.

The blade is released using the familiar lockback mechanism along the spine of the handle.

It is a design that has remained relevant for generations.

CONDITION — EXCELLENT COLLECTIBLE APPEARANCE

This knife presents beautifully.

It has clearly been opened and handled, but the photographs show no obvious signs of significant cutting use.

The blade displays a clean satin finish, sharp-looking cutting edge, and crisp special-production engraving.

The handle scales and decorative Buck emblem are exceptionally attractive.

The metal bolsters show a clean overall appearance with minor handling marks consistent with storage or examination.

The included black Buck nylon sheath also presents very well.

I cannot guarantee that the knife has never been used, carried, or sharpened. It is being sold as a previously owned collectible in excellent visual condition.

Please carefully examine the detailed photographs, which show the actual knife and sheath being offered.

WHY THIS KNIFE DESERVES A PLACE IN YOUR COLLECTION

There are plenty of ordinary Buck 110 Folding Hunters available.

But collectors often seek the versions that tell a different story.

Special blade markings, unusual handle treatments, identifiable production years, and limited-production designations help distinguish collectible examples from everyday production knives.

This 2019 First Production Run Buck 110 combines those desirable features in one attractive package.

It offers:

* A recognizable American knife design

* Special 2019 production-run engraving

* A stated 500-piece production designation

* Distinctive textured handle styling

* Classic Buck construction and engineering

* Excellent visual condition

* Original Buck-branded nylon sheath

Whether displayed alongside other Buck knives, added to a collection of American-made cutlery, or given as a gift to a lifelong outdoorsman, this knife offers a special variation of a true American classic.
