Boston Daily Globe Titanic Sinks REPRINT Morning & Evening April 16 1912 REPRO:
$12.59

This offering is a reprint compilation of two historic Boston Daily Globe issues documenting the sinking of the RMS Titanic, combining both the morning and evening editions dated April 16, 1912. The front page prominently displays the large banner headline “Titanic Sinks, 1500 Die,” along with contemporaneous subheadings detailing the Carpathia rescue efforts, early casualty estimates, and the immediate international response to the disaster. Interior pages reproduce period reporting, survivor lists, wireless dispatches, maps showing the location of the sinking, and photographic halftone images that were originally published in the Globe during the immediate aftermath.

The reprint is presented as a single, large-format newspaper-style piece rather than two separate issues, with the morning and evening editions integrated into one continuous layout. The content reflects early twentieth-century newspaper typography, column structure, and advertising, including period commercial advertisements, serialized news, and editorial content typical of the Boston Globe at that time. Headlines, datelines, and body text correspond to the original reporting and reflect the uncertainty and evolving information that characterized coverage in the first days following the sinking.

As shown in the photographs, some small sections did not transfer completely during the reproduction process and appear partially missing or faint in places. There are visible fold lines from handling and storage, along with light toning consistent with a modern reprint meant to evoke the appearance of an early twentieth-century newspaper. The paper is intact overall, with no indication of original publisher printing, confirming it as a later reproduction rather than an original 1912 issue. This piece serves as a visual and textual facsimile intended for reference, display, or educational use, presenting the historical reporting context surrounding one of the most significant maritime disasters of the twentieth century.

Please note: this item will be shipped, folded as shown in fourths.
