Our blue wooden Santa stands on a frosty base with a polar bear at his side and a red sack over his shoulder. Two white bunnies are painted on the back of that sack.
This one is hand carved from solid natural wood, and our carver treats it like a small sculpture, finished on all sides. From there, it goes to a professional artist, who hand paints it with water-based acrylics. Signing the base is the very last step.

ABOUT THIS SANTA
Turn him around for the hardest part to paint. An oval frame of white dots and tiny red leaves holds two white bunnies huddled on a snowdrift under pine boughs. White on white is tricky, but you\'ll still pick out the red bow on one of them. The folk pattern on the hem, sleeves and shoulders is built up from rows of small red, white and pale blue dots. Even the base gets its share of time, with white frost dabbed over the blue until it looks like ice. Santa keeps one palm on the bear\'s head, and the bear sits beside him as calm as a loyal old dog.
