is the title of the BING & GRONDAHL (B&G) 1935 Christmas Jubilee Plate, commemorating 40 years of B&G Christmas plates 1895-1935. It features the Little Match Girl (from the Hans Christian Andersen story of that name), who has fallen asleep on some steps, after having burned her last match to keep warm. Artwork by E. Plockross. Book Value in 2004: $700 - $850, the second most rare of the B&G Jubilee plates (after the 1940 Jubilee plate). The first Jubilee Plate was issued in 1915 to commemorate 20 years of what has become the world’s most popular and longest running series of collector plates. Jubilee plates were issued every five years through 2015, all in the large 9 inch size, each featuring a scene taken from a popular Christmas plate from the past.
