MTV'sBeavis & Butt-Head:
  • ACollectable and Colorful First Print Full Run of (8) Mid-Grade Issues featuring the First Appearances of Beavis, Butt-Head and Daria Morgendorffer!

Published between March 1994 and June 1996, MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head -- the first standard comics publication to bring the off-color characters from the adult animated series created by Mike Judge for the MTV cable channel -- was the first of only three titles to ever be printed under the Marvel Comics imprint known as MARVEL ABSURD. Indeed, the imprint was created for the two boys from Highland, Texas, and was abandoned upon the conclusion of the series.
On MTV, Beavis and Butt-Head endured for eight seasons (1993-1997). The show's namesake titular characters were a pair of teenage slackers characterized by their apathy, lack of intelligence, lowbrow humor, less-than-attractive looks and their shared love for hard rock and heavy metal. Slice-of-life stories of the pair's small-town misadventures were juxtaposed with Beavis and Butt-Head watching and commenting on real-world music videos, and the duo quickly became pop culture icons to an untold legion of Gen X fans. A recurring character on the the series, Daria Morgendorffer, also achieved her own popularity and eventually received her own spin-off cartoon series, Daria.Published just one year into Beavis and Butt-Head's original MTV run, Marvel's Beavis and Butt-Head comics series was a hot property that catered to many non-traditional Marvel fans. The boys' creator, MIke Judge, oversaw the series, which featured various writers and which was entirely drawn by the same illustrator, Rick Parker. Although somewhat toned down from the MTV series, Beavis and Butt-Head carried much of what made its stars popular into the comics, and the series is known for being a very faithful and accurate representation of its central characters --- characters who, now 31 years of age, have remained as relevant, irreverent, and iconic as they were when Rolling Stonedescribed them as the "biggest phenomenon on MTV since the heyday of Michael Jackson."
  • Give your collection all the Beavis and Butt-Head it deserves with this 8-Issue Full Run of the original and iconic Marvel Comics series -- and be sure to read our detailed description of all issues found below!

Estimated Grade Range:
FN/VF (7.0) to VG/FN (5.0)Grades Estimated / Issue | DiscussionAll (8) issues are highly glossy, ultra vibrant copies that lay flat with tight staples and crisp interior pages that are (W) white with no detected Hidden Flaws. The eye appeal of each issue is apparent and evident, as per the individual photographs provided (above). From examination, it appears that these are Unread copies that were preserved in comics bags, some with boards. However, each copy has sustained at least a moderate degree of wear for reasons other than direct handling and use.
Aside from spine stress and spine creasing (primarily with light color breaks), most copies exhibit one or more superficial indentation marks or pits -- as if the tip of a ball point pen was dropped onto the cover (while inside its comics bag). The tip of the pen would leave a small rounded pit/dent in the paper/cover. These may be be referred to as "digs" or "dents" in grading terminology. We will refer to them as "dent marks". Not all dents can be seen in the photos or scans provided above, as some visibility is reliant on angle of light. Dents on all covers are superficial only, except for Issue #8 which has more significant and deeper dents that are noticeable on from the interior.
Overview of Condition by Issue:
  • #1) Moderate spine stress, 1 dent mark; FN/VF
  • #2) Moderate spine stress and spine creasing, 1 dent mark; FN
  • #3) Minor spine stress, approx. 8 dent marks; FN/VF
  • #4) Moderate spine stress, uniform spine creasing, corner crease (bottom right, front), outer edge wear, corner rounding, and general cover wear. No dent marks. FN+
  • #5) Moderate spine stress and uniform spine creasing, rolled overhang, superficial dent marks on both covers (approx. 5-6 dent marks); FN
  • #6) Minor corner blunting, minor spine stress and uniform spine creasing, corner creasing, approx. 10 dent marks; FN
  • #7) Multiple spine stress and moderate spine creasing, several (3-4) lengthy indentations / depressions on front cover. No dent marks. FN/FN-
  • #8) Multiple spine stress and uniform spine creasing, multiple superficial to heavy dig and gouge marks on surface of both covers, corner creasing, edge wear with abrasion; VG/FN
Please note that grading is approximate, as proper accounting for the dent marks as described is unknown.
  • Comic Books shown(above) are the same exact (8) copiesthat you will receive.
