Maker: It\'s indisputable: Limoges says quality. And T&V - Tressemann and Vogt - produced some of the world\'s finest and most beautiful Limoges porcelain.
Design: This lovely oval covered vegetable bowl is in an elegant pattern of beautifully hand painted pink roses against a pure white fine porcelain background, in keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company\'s porcelain so famous and so coveted.
Many of the great Limoges companies produced variations of the classic and hugely popular pattern of pink roses against a pure white background. That means this dish would easily blend into similar sets by many other Limoges makers. And of course, it would make a wonderful display on its own.
Marks and age: The green underglaze \"T&V Limoges France\" mark number 7, dating the porcelain\'s production to between 1892 and 1907, appears on the base along with the magenta decorator\'s mark number 16 that was in use from 1907 to 1919. Since the marks overlap only in 1907, that is the year this dish was produced. Source: The Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, third edition.
Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition, especially considering their age and fragile material. There are no cracks, chips, nicks, stains, repairs or crazing. There are small spots of light wear on all three handles; they are shown in the photos.
Size: The base is 11 3/4 inches long between the far ends of the handles, 6 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall. The two pieces weigh 1 pound 15 ounces.
Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
