Up for sale is a beautifully preserved, 100% authentic Imperial German Prussian Infantry-style Pickelhaube spiked helmet, officially issued at the outbreak of World War I in 1914.This helmet is a dream piece for serious advanced collectors, boasting highly sought-after depot markings, an uncommon large size, and a fascinating mixed-metal configuration.Key Features & Historical Markings:

• Genuine B.A. IX Depot Stamp: The interior leather liner features a clear, legible circular ink stamp reading "B.A. IX 1914". This indicates it was processed through the Bekleidungsamt IX (9th Army Corps Clothing Depot) based in Altona/Hamburg in 1914.
• Rare Large Size 59: The liner is clearly stamped "59" (59 cm head circumference). Finding surviving wartime helmets in a modern Large/XL size is very difficult, making this piece perfect for mannequin or display head presentation.
• Specialized Mixed Fittings (Mischmontierung): Features a gorgeous, highly detailed silver-toned Prussian Line Eagle front plate (Wappen) reading "Mit Gott Für Koenig Und Vaterland". The silver plate is historically paired with a brass spike, brass base plate, and brass front trim. This specific configuration points to use by specialized technical units or non-combatant staff within the 9th Army Corps.
• Dual Regimental Visor Stamps: The underside of the rear visor retains two original, rectangular regimental ink property stamps from historical reissue, alongside the original brass rear spine attachment bracket.

Condition:
The helmet is in excellent antique condition for being over 110 years old. The black lacquered body has a fantastic aged patina with minor surface crazing. There is a small, natural age-crack in the lacquer at the very front center of the visor brim (visible in photos), which is completely stable and typical for hardened period leather. The interior leather liner is entirely intact, showing honest wear, natural darkening, and historical handling.
