Add a gentle touch of natural woodland beauty and American folk art charm to your home decor with this striking hand-carved wood owl figurine. Purchased directly from a regional artisan in Southern Illinois back in 2008, this 10-inch owl features meticulous hand-carved feather notches, soft hand-painted details in warm neutral tones, and realistic yellow wrapped-wire feet perched tightly atop a rustic natural wood tree stump base.

Preserved in flawless condition for nearly two decades, this solid wood carving stands sturdy and balanced. It makes a wonderful accent for rustic cabin shelves, cottage mantel galleries, bird enthusiast collections, or desk displays.

🏭 Manufacturing History & Artisan Background

The Folk Art Tradition: Regional American woodcarvers often select natural branch stumps and hardwoods to highlight the wood grain while carving native wild birds like Great Horned, Screech, and Barn Owls.

Wire Feet Craftsmanship: The use of fine wrapped wire to form the bird\'s slender feet and perching talons is a classic, specialized technique practiced by skilled bird carvers to achieve lifelike posture and stability without bulky wooden legs.

About Old FloridaVintage

Welcome to my store! I moved down to sunny Florida 6 years ago from up north. Most of the wonderful treasures I list here were cherished pieces kept in my previous northern home. My home here in Florida is quite a bit smaller and has a completely different aesthetic, so I am lovingly sending these items off to find a wonderful new home! I also love finding items at local estate and yard sales in SW Florida to save them from landfills. I reuse and recycle packaging supplies whenever possible.
