Pfeffer Porcelain dogs were never signed by the artist. Fritz Pfeffer purchased the Gotha factory in 1882 and began producing animal figures around 1900; after his death in 1922, his son Max ran the firm until its 1934 bankruptcy, after which his wife Ilse reopened it and kept it running until 1942. This pair could have been designed by any of the three. Packed with care for safe delivery.
