Apollo 11 Moon Landing Rare Commemorative Glass Vase Harald Axelsson 10” 1969-70 For Sale

Extremely rare NASA Apollo 11 “ First on the Moon” , commemorative vase by renowned glass artist and master engraver, Harald Axelsson. (He has pieces are in the permenant collections of museums, including the Corning Museum of Glass , in New York. ) This piece was made while he was employed at Magnor Glass in Norway. Axelsson had previously been employed by Orrefors in Sweden. One side, of the vase, has the lunar lander with the astronauts on the moon. The other side is a view of the earth with stars. Only one hundred of the these vases were ever produced. This one in numbered “35/100”. It is signed “H. Axelsson” It is in very good vintage with age appropriate wear. (Some light scratches.) It weighs over 5.5 pound. It measures approximately 10” tall by 6-1/2” wide and 3-1/2” deep. Exceptional and historically important piece of Scandinavian glass etched by Harald Axelsson.
