Antique rare Philippine Piña cloth pineapple textile hand spun Embroidery Set 7:
$200.00

Antique Philippine Piña Jusi Hand‑Darned Embroidery Set traditional. 7 very rare pieces. 🥰Your chance to enjoy a very special rare textile treasures. Last ones I have. 7 handmade square hand woven pieces from Philippines 1940-50 that are painstakingly produced from the making of the pineapple cloth fibers to weaving... to woven traditional details. These have florals and scallop edges. This is genuine rare and Antique Pina spun pineapple fiber purchased in the country in aprox 1940’s in Manila, Philippines. By a couple who traveled the world and collected the finest linens in bale loads. 👋 The color is a soft golden color and silky sheen. I had fun researching this to provide as much back ground as I could. Square beautiful runners are of slightly varying size , aprox 14x 16 inches✨👋👋See all photos that include old washing instructions you will want to print. These have a few flaws …small holes in center or sides but were unused so likely from storage or when made. 👋👋The estate cache of these treasure had a real bamboo mailing tube with stamps and address all the way from Manila to New Jersey... 1951 😳 hello post office! This dates the travel and textiles . Which is how my Pineapple cloth made in Philippines adventure began. Philippine made fiber made from the leaves of the pineapple plant. 💝Beautiful dresses and blouses are made from this textile. Pineapples are indigenous to South America but have been widely cultivated in the Philippines since the 17th century, and used for weaving lustrous lace-like luxury textiles known as nipis fabric. The name is derived from Spanish piña, meaning ;pineapple. Li have carefully hand washed w/ instructions and ironed as they were stiff with older starch that had moth protection. Clean and satiny. These will be carefully wrapped and mailed at lightening speed! Thank you!
