Antique photograph Ambrotype 1854 of An Older Gentleman For Sale

This portrait is dated July 4th & 11th 1854. I do not know who it is of. This is an older gentleman who looks to be upper class. Image size is approximately 3x4 inches.The piece is in exceptional condition for its age. The case that holds it is a beautifully embossed leather and has taken on most of the wear. The spine of the case has been reinforced with a patch of fabric of some kind. The line in the photo is from my camera for some reason and not really there in this piece... photo. Please check out the photos for more description and detail. Upon further research I have come to the conclusion that this portrait is an Abrotype.
