Antique Roseville Pottery Juvenile Ware child’s cream or milk pitcher, dating to approximately 1920.This charming early American nursery piece features yellow and orange baby chicks walking around a softly colored green band, with black outlined details on a warm ivory creamware body. Roseville’s Juvenile Ware was introduced during the late 1910s and was produced as functional tableware specifically for children.The underside is unsigned except for a hand-painted red numeral “2.” Early Roseville Juvenile pieces were not always permanently marked and may originally have carried a paper label.Approximate measurements: 3 1/2” tall, 4 3/4” wide (from spout to handle), and 2 1/2”across the base.Condition: Antique preowned condition with substantial age-related character. There is visible wear and fading to the chick decoration, surface marks and discoloration, interior staining, and general glaze wear. The spout has a brown area that may represent staining, glaze loss, or an old repair; please examine the close-up photograph carefully. There is a small chip on the base edge below the single chick. Both items are shown in the photos. The handle appears intact.
