Antique c1860 Handmade Soldered Tin Flat Back Sheep Lamb Cookie Cutter Folk Art
This cookie cutter was intentionally handmade without a handle. Scrap preservation was a standard practice among tradesmen in the mid 19th century as tin and solder were expensive commodities. The corners have been clipped as a quick zero cost alternative to removing the razor sharp edges. Tinsmiths used this technique to ensure the handleless cookie cutter could be pressed firmly without injuring the baker.
The cookie cutter in good vintage condition with normal wear and age. There is a gap between the back legs and a slight bend at the head. The solder seams are still solid. Please review the pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
