Overview
Up for sale is an authentic antique/vintage postal history lot featuring three (3) lead security bag seals stamped with "U.S." on one side and "P.O." (Post Office) on the reverse. Each lead disc retains its original twisted wire strand. The set comes housed inside its original period turned-wood cylindrical tube container with a removable cap.
Dating from approximately the 1910s to 1940s, these lead crimp seals were used by the United States Post Office Department to secure registered mail pouches, postal sacks, and transit bags prior to the adoption of modern aluminum and plastic closures. A fantastic piece of postal exonumia, antique hardware, or militaria/government history for your collection.

Lead Seals: Excellent antique condition with light age-appropriate surface oxidation and authentic grey patina. Stamped lettering ("U.S." / "P.O.") remains sharp and clear on all pieces. Twisted wire attachments remain intact as pictured.
Wooden Tube Container: Excellent structural condition. The top cap fits snugly onto the shoulder of the base. Shows mild natural wood grain texture and minor vintage surface wear consistent with age and handling.
