beautiful, highly collectible primitive Appalachian egg/gathering basket dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This basket features the classic double-rounded buttocks form, entirely hand-shaped from split white oak weavers and heavy bentwood ribs.

CONDITION REPORT:
Good antique condition overall. The basket is structurally sound, sits level, and holds its shape beautifully under natural tension. As an authentic primitive piece with a long history of use, it shows two minor honest wear flaws: a small, historic charred/singed spot on one section of the outer rim wrapping (likely from sitting near a hearth), and a small broken splint/fragment on the bottom woven underside from normal ground wear.
