This antique shield-shaped badge is embossed with \"CYMRU AM BYTH\" (Welsh for \"Wales Forever\") across the top, with a detailed Welsh harp at center flanked by oak leaf sprigs, and seven stars along the crest — classic emblems of Welsh cultural pride, likely worn by a member of a Welsh-American fraternal society or St. David\'s Society in the early 20th century.
The reverse is clearly hallmarked \"The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J.\" — the preeminent American manufacturer of fraternal, souvenir, and membership badges from 1892 to 1959. This maker\'s mark helps confidently date the piece to the early 1900s.
