Antique WMF Silver-Plate Ice Bucket & Matching Claw Tongs. Circa ~1880-1900 For Sale

Beautiful antique ice bucket by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), the renowned German silver-plate maker, with the “WMF” mark stamped on the pierced band (see photos). The frosted, crackled-texture amber glass liner sits in an ornate silver-plate mount with a pierced quatrefoil gallery band, topped by a swing handle featuring a pair of beautifully cast mythical figures. Comes complete with the matching set of ice tongs, featuring floral detailing and claw-foot grips. A lovely, hard-to-find pairing.A genuine antique piece (WMF marks of this style date to the late 1800s), full of Victorian/Art Nouveau character. Wonderful as a decorative display piece, bar cart centerpiece, or wine/champagne cooler.Condition: Age-appropriate tarnish/patina to the silver plate, and a small crack/fissure in the glass liner near the rim.
