Antique W.R. Mfg. Co. silver-plated open salt cellar featuring an ornate Victorian-style acanthus leaf and scroll design with a pedestal base.
The underside is marked W.R. Mfg. Co. and 3853, which appears to be the pattern or model number.
Measures approximately 3 inches tall. This is a substantial, beautifully detailed little piece with wonderful old-world character.
Condition is consistent with age and use. There is significant natural patina/tarnish, surface wear, discoloration, scratches, and areas of silver-plate loss with the warmer base metal showing through. The interior also shows oxidation and age-related wear. It has not been polished or restored.
