Gorgeous Antique LampBoston & Sandwich Glass Style(burner marked Ontario Lamp & Lantern Co 1887)
Lovely antique condition!Cleaned, tested, working well and ready to use and enjoy.
This is a true antique oil lamp with lovely personality, converted to electric at some point in its history.The brass has a warm antique patina and a stunning hammered texture.The turquoise blue glass font has geometric details: ribbed lines, diamonds and triangles.The milk glass pedestal piece and lamp shade are both bright white, and the shade has gorgeous curves and ribbed lines.The glass chimney is acid frosted.No chips or cracks in any of the glass.
The brass burner knob is marked OL&L Co Hamilton, and the ring below the burner / socket says Patented May 24th 1887 xxx.These markings help date the lamp to the 1870\'s to 1880\'s.
The wiring and socket are in great condition and working well.The original knob for moving the burner wick up and down is now the knob for turning the light on and off. :-)Use one standard-base bulb up to 60 watts, or an LED bulb for any brightness you like, as they use low wattage for bright light.
