ANTIQUE / VINTAGE WOODEN SURVEYOR\'S TRIPOD – BRASS HARDWARE

Offered is a very nice vintage wooden tripod believed to have originally been used with a surveying instrument, transit, level, or other precision instrument.

This is a substantial, well-made older tripod featuringthree wooden legs with brass adjustment fittings, original wing/locking screws, metal pointed feet, and a large circular metal/brass-finished instrument mounting head.

The tripod has a great amount of original character and displays beautifully. It would also make an excellent stand for a vintage surveying instrument, camera, telescope, optical instrument, lamp, or as an architectural/industrial decorative piece.

Condition

The tripod shows the expected scratches, scuffs, finish loss, oxidation/patina and signs of previous use. The wood has an attractive aged appearance. The brass fittings show natural oxidation and patina.
