This antique vintage Webster XL-500 portable Brother typewriter and case is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Made of steel, this manual typewriter was manufactured in Japan in the 1960’s and still works. The Brother line was popular with college students during that time.
Considering the age of this item, it is in good condition. The case shows more wear as that is what got beat up more carrying the typewriter around. Look at all the pictures to see the condition. Even though there is a corner where the zipper closure has disconnected from the case, the zipper itself still works. The ink prints very lightly and I’m amazed it hasn’t completely dried in all the years it has been stored away.
The manual is a fun piece to have with it. It has lessons on typing and where to place your fingers. There is also a separate paper which may have been typed by the original owner titled “Typing Facts You Must Know “!
This is a must-have item for anyone who loves vintage technology or wants to add a unique piece to their collection.
