Estate find. mid-century molded devotional statue of the Virgin Mary, likely dating to the late 1930s through 1950s. The bottom mark for “Consolidated Molded Products Corp.” (CMP) and “Made in U.S.A.” points to an American mass-produced religious figure made during the huge postwar boom in home Catholic décor.
The styling is classic Lourdes-inspired:
White robe with blue lining
Rosary draped from folded hands
Sacred heart/radiant chest detail
Ornate gold-accented mantle
Black faceted base
The creamy ivory plastic and hand-painted details are very characteristic of mid-century Catholic household shrines, bedroom altars, funeral home décor, and parish gift-shop pieces.
