Antique Victorian Pink Optic Ribbed Blown Glass Ruffled Vase Gilt 12\" For Sale

This breathtaking antique late Victorian mouth-blown art glass vase beautifully captures the delicate romanticism of late 19th-century European glassware. Crafted from translucent pink glass, the striking form features a heavily ribbed, bulbous melon base that transitions seamlessly into a tall, vertically ribbed optic cylinder neck. The neck is intricately hand-painted with a delicate gold gilt floral branch, while the lower base is dramatically accented with thick, swirling gilded plumes. The silhouette is masterfully completed by a deeply crimped, ruffled pie-crust rim featuring an applied clear glass border ring that catches the light from every angle. Standing approximately 12 inches tall, this individual antique cabinet vase features a smooth, recessed, unmarked base with authentic historic shelf wear, making it a spectacular center or display piece for a collection of fine antique glass.

Condition Notes

The vase is in excellent antique condition with fantastic structural stability and zero chips, cracks, or glass fractures along the delicate ruffled rim. The translucent pink glass remains brilliantly clear with no internal water scaling or cloudiness. The hand-painted gold gilt work shows minor, age-appropriate surface rubbing and light fading to some of the fine floral leaf lines, entirely consistent with a well-preserved piece of 19th-century mouth-blown art glass.
